Recorded highlights of "THE PRINCE'S TRUST 10TH ANNIVERSARY BIRTHDAY PARTY" In The Gracious Presence of Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales. The entire proceeds from the sale of this recorded work are donated to The Prince's Trust.

The Prince’s Trust is a charity in the United Kingdom founded in 1976 by Charles, Prince of Wales, and Frederick John Pervin to help young people. They run a range of training programmes, provide mentoring support and offer financial grants to build the confidence and motivation of disadvantaged young people. Each year they work with 50,000 young people, with around 80% moving on to Employment, Education, Training or Volunteering. Rock Celebration-The Prin. has been added to your Cart. I think it was the first Prince's Trust Rock concert and others followed. Check on YouTube to see clips of this and other ones. This DVD only contains some highlights from the concert and not the full concert. Here you get one song each, except for 3 songs from Paul McCartney, who closed the show. It's got a great representation of the biggest (mostly) British artists at the time. They all sound good, are still young and in their prime

The Prince's Trust Rock Gala Concerts began the Eighties trend for charitable concerts in aid of good causes. The first 1982 Gala revived a spark that had been fired by George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh in 1971, and turned it into a blazing modern tradition. This tradition reached its peak with the Live Aid Concerts to help relieve the Ethiopian famine of 1985. In 1988 the venue was changed from the Wembley Arena to the Royal Albert Hall. The venue might have been smaller but there was no diminution in the All-Star roster

I caught yhe end of it on a PBS station last night. It would have been nice to see Muse open Wembley. With respect to George Michael, I think their music is better-suited to a stadium setting - apparently George Michael wasn't able to make use of the whole space. I couldn't imagine Muse having that problem.
