Anda Jaleo, the first of these albums, was recorded mostly live in the studio and features Foster singing songs from poet Federico Garcia Lorca's 1931 collection of mysteriously beautiful flamenco tunes Las Canciones Populares Espanolas. The 11 songs here brim over with spirit and romance, while Foster's wandering, wavering voice offering up Spanish-sung lyrics over a host of lively foot stomping, handclapping rhythms, castanets, and traditional flamenco instrumentation. On Anda Jaleo, recorded live in the Grenadine Sierra with the Victor Herrero Band, she returns to more traditional material. The album features songs from poet Federico Garcia Lorca's folk collection Las Canciones Populares Espanolas. As genre exercises go, however, Anda Jaleo is extremely well-executed
