Athena is a rock/ska band from Istanbul, Turkey, founded by twin brothers Hakan Özoğuz (guitar and backing vocals) and Gökhan Özoğuz (lead vocals and guitar) in 1987. They have released 8 albums and featured as the Turkish entry to the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "For Real", finishing fourth. Athena (ah-T'hěn-ah) was formed by twin brothers Gökhan Özoğuz and Hakan Özoğuz as a thrash metal band in 1987.

Athena" (the working title being "Theresa") is a song written by Pete Townshend and recorded by The Who. It appears as the first track on the group's tenth album It's Hard, released in 1982. Written for actress Theresa Russell, the song was the first single from It's Hard. The single was a moderate success reaching the Top 40 in both Britain and America. Athena" was originally written by Pete Townshend after an encounter with the American actress Theresa Russell.

1) Athena is a Turkish ska/rock group. Athena was formed by twin brothers Gökhan Özoğuz and Hakan Özoğuz in 1987. They started their musical life as a metal band, and released their first album One Last Breath, but switched to the ska genre some time later.

Country of origin: Italy. Dracma Records included their latest song recorded, "Crystal Eyes", in their Night Pieces III compilation and Athena started to work on Inside, the Moon with guitarist Alessio Mosti taking up vocal duties.
